Trinity College Glasgow are delighted to announce our undergraduate Short Course Programme in practical theology for the academic year 2026-2027.

NEW COURSE
Pastoral Practice for Church Leaders
One-year 20-credit course
Starts 24th September 2026, 7pm-9pm
Semester 1 ONLINE teaching
Semester 2 PLACEMENT
This course will equip those in, or expecting to be in, positions of Church leadership to understand and evaluate some of the pastoral needs and dynamics within Churches and the interventions that can be made.
HISTORY AND THEOLOGY OF CHRISTIAN WORSHIP
Starts 29th September 2026, 6.30pm - 8.30pm
Tuesdays,ONLINE
This course introduces students to the history and theology of Christian worship. It provides an understanding of the development of current forms of Christian worship, the nature of sacramental distinctions, and new sources and ecumenical confluences in 20th- and 21st-century worship. It provides perspectives which will underpin future worship practice and the development of advanced worship leading skills.
PREACHING IN CHURCH CONTEXTS
Starts 23rd September 2026, 4pm-6pm
Wednesdays, HYBRID (in-person or online).
This creative, practical and stimulating course will help you to develop as a preacher through reflection on why and how we preach. We will explore the relationships between the form of biblical texts and the sermons we preach on them, as well as reflecting on delivery, style, and method.
MINISTRY AND MISSION IN DIGITAL CULTURE
Starts 7th October 2026, 7pm-9pm
Wednesdays, ONLINE
This course will help students to reflect on and engage with the rise of digital media and its rapid move into church presence online. This course is suitable for those working in church and mission and who are looking for an introduction to digital ministry and for leaders thinking through the implications of digital materials for their ministry and vocation.
CONTEMPORARY VISUAL ART AND CHRISTIAN WORSHIP

NEW MASTERS LEVEL COURSE FOR 2026
DISABILITY THEOLOGY IN CONTEXT
Starts 5th October 2026, evenings
Mondays, ONLINE
This course will use a disability lens to explore biblical and theological ideas about personhood, and it will examine the development of disability theology as a discipline within the history of Christian thought. The difficulties of reading ancient scriptures to inform morder disability awareness, and the pastoral complexities of issues such as healing, suffering, and inclusion will be included.
